AMI Error Message Decoder Help

SWAN AMI instruments log error messages as:
  1. Alarms as 32 bit integer (E001-E032).
  2. AlarmsE(xtended) as 32 bit integer (E033-E064)
The messages are listed in the log file in columns 3 and 4 in decimal format.
Not all alarms are defined on all SWAN instruments and column 4 may not be available.

This program transforms the decimal code into a binary number and checks for active bits.
Each active bit represents an error or status message.

  1. Open the logger file with any text editor (Notepad, EXCEL, etc.)
  2. Transfer the error message code (column 3, 4) into the field labeled 'Alarm' and 'AlarmE'.
  3. Click 'Get Error List' to see the active error/message numbers.
  4. Check the meaning of the error number in the operator's manual of the instrument.
